WPC ETA Approval
Equipment Type Approval through Self-Declaration (WPC ETA-SD) is mandatory for wireless products operating in delicensed frequency bands in India for commercial use. Approval is based on RF characteristics including bandwidth, emission, and power, meeting specified limits in WPC notifications. All such products must be certified by WPC before deployment in India.
ETA requirement for categories of mobiles, laptops, electronic notepads, smart watches, Short Range Devices (including accessories), microphones, speakers, headphones, earphones, printers, scanners, cameras etc. and Test & Measurement equipment operating in license exempt bands as permitted in India.

Issued by the Wireless Planning & Coordination (WPC) Wing of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), this approval ensures that devices comply with the permitted frequency, power, and bandwidth parameters to prevent interference with other communication services.
