ARAI Homologation & Certification
Homologation is the process of certifying that a vehicle or a component meets the regulatory standards set by the Government of India. ARAI is the premier testing and certification agency notified by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for this purpose.
Mandatory for: OEMs, Importers, and Auto Component Manufacturers.

Certification Process Flow
Application & Document Submission
Submit technical specs, drawings, and manufacturer details to ARAI.
Prototype / Sample Submission
Submit vehicle component samples for specialized testing (Crash, Emission, etc.).
Validation & Testing
ARAI conducts rigorous testing against CMVR/AIS standards (Safety, EMI/EMC, Photometry).
Grant of Certificate (TAC)
Upon successful compliance, Type Approval Certificate is issued.
