What is EPR for Plastic Waste?
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a policy approach where producers take responsibility for the end-of-life management of their products. Under the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2022, PIBOs must register on the CPCB portal, meet recycling targets, and ensure proper disposal of plastic packaging waste.
Non-compliance attracts Environmental Compensation under 'Polluter Pays' principle.
